ROMANIAN Construction sector remains on a good track/ Sectorul de construcții DIN ROMÂNIA rămâne pe un trend pozitiv

EN

We are five months far from my previous editorial, but still under the umbrella of COVID-19 pandemic, the second wave hit Europe, although we all wished for a rapid resolution of this situation. Despite this difficult circumstances the construction sector remained on a very good track, and I even had the surprise that 2020 was a great year for many construction companies in Romania.

At the begining of this autumn Romania received a total financing through European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) of €1 billion and is set to trigger €4 billion in additional investments. Part of this budget is directed to reabilitation and modernization of public utilities networks. In Bucharest, the General Mayor Nicusor Dan, together with the Prime Minister Ludovic Orban and the Minister of European Funds, Marcel Boloș, signed the financing contract for the modernization of the capital’s primary district heating. 212 kilometers of pipeline from Bucharest primary network will be rehabilitated within a project of 330 million euros from european funds.

Considering there are so many big projects ongoing for road infrastructure, water and sewage networks, gas pipelines and fiber optics, all construcion sites are working at full speed. Each time I call a partner he is overhead with work, the team is working 24 hours a day. Many european countries were refrained from introducing the construction sector in the second lock-down, as construction is set to continue as an essential service. It is a fact that this is keeping us busy! This is the best way to pass over this periode.

We are already adapted to this new normality, now we just have to swin through and see the opportunities ahead. Meanwhile the most important is to stay healthy and as winter holidays are soon to come, I wish you all to celebrate in small families in order to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe during this time.
